Is anyone confused with Souja Boy Tellem? I'm all for rags to riches / over night success stories, but how did this happen? He allegedly got his start from social networks such as Myspace and Youtube. What am I doing wrong?
This guy becomes a multi-millionaire (that's what he claims) by just posting his music... my point is that, he can't sing or rap. Ok, maybe I'm being a little harsh or maybe I'm tone deaf, but every time I listen to his music I scratch my head and ask myself, how? Is society really this gullible that we allow people with no talent to become multi-millionaires?
I'm sick of all these talentless individuals becoming superstars for no reason at all. So, while I'm ranting and raving-- I figured out what it is about Souja Boy that people are fascinated with...He's very charming and kinda cute. I guess good looks really can get you far in life.

I just watched a fascinating topic on The View. Sharlene Azam, is the author of Oral Sex is the new goodnight kiss. She talked about how high school girls are performing oral sex on boys and men in order to gain acceptance and that they are now selling their bodies. My psychology class also brought this topic up last night for discussion and everyone was astonished at the behavior and insecurity of young girls. I'm extremely saddened that girls feel a need to degrade themselves for someone to like them, but I'm not at all shocked at the behavior.
The reason that I'm not shocked is because, when I was in high school several girls were getting caught and suspended for the same thing. Yes! They would go in the bathrooms and behind the Tennis court performing oral sex. I use to run home from school and tell my parents such stories and they couldn't believe it. It's been almost 10 years since I was in high school. Honestly, much hasn't changed with the way girls behave in school, the only difference is that now people are paying attention.
I blame the horrible sex education system at school. I had a conversation with someone about schools needing to do a better job at educating teens in school. The individual who I had the conversation with said that it's a parents responsibility to bring the topic up. I agree that parents should discuss sex with their children; however, I also believe that schools should. Middle and high school students spend on an average of 8 or more hours at school, and most of what they learn is from school, teachers and friends. Seriously, we all know that the common child will listen and pay attention to things in the environment far more than their parents. It isn't always the case... sometimes, teens do listen to their parents, I was one who did. But, I was also influenced by my surroundings: music, friends, magazines, etc.
I think that this topic is a national emergency and that something needs to be done before it gets worse (and yes, it can get worse). Why are people just sitting around talking about the dangers???? why aren't condoms and sex pamphlets offered in every school????

There have been so many lessons that I have learned in my 27 youthful years. One thing in particular that I am just now learning is to be cautious of people who we humbly let into our lives or call "friend." My mother always says, "not everyone is your friend, or wishes you well. Some people are jealous and pray that you don't succeed."
Naturally, I have an accepting heart and over the course of my years I have extended my olive branches to those who are undeserving. Individuals who have asked for my help, but unable to reciprocate, I have been there. Being a nice person can sometimes bite you in the ass, because not everyone will have your best interest at hand and definitely not everyone is your friend.
So here's a note to myself: Continue being you, but don't extend a branch to those who just take.

Many of us are very talented individuals, but are we using all of our creative juices? I was just sitting here thinking about all of my talents that God and my parents blessed me with and realized that there are a couple talents that I have not been taking full advantage of. There should be a day... A national holiday called, "Use your talent." It might sound a little silly, but I think that if we were encouraged to use our talent through a holiday we would see a better side to people. Just food for thought....

Last night I went to see The Soloist starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. Absolutely the best picture ever. It's about a Los Angeles Times writer who investigates a story about a prodigy turned homeless man living in Los Angeles, but in the end the two find friendship. Love this movie! Jamie Foxx's performance was amazing, funny, real, and for a second I believed that he was the actual person who he was portraying. Robert Downey Jr. delivered an impeccable performance. If you haven't seen this movie already go see it. Foxx deserves an oscar for his performance in this movie. If he doesn't win i'd be shocked. Also, I predict that this movie will get best picture. Absolutely amazing movie! I swear I can go on and on about how great it is.

For the past week, I have been sick with a bad cold. Leave it it me, I had the great idea to boost my immune system by drinking Aloe Vera juice. Well, I failed to read the label so who knows if I was drinking too much. Is a whole body over a two day span too much??? If it is, I'm definitely in trouble!
All I know is that, I feel like I went to the doctor and received the ultimate colon cleanser. HaHa! I'm sure that you didn't want to know that, but it's the truth. I've never felt so light and free (if you know what I mean) in my life. Here's a warning to all those who people who just want a little boost: Read the damn label before drinking because you may get a whole new lift...
I'm still going to drink Aloe Vera juice, but never will I ever drink the whole bottle in a two day stand.
Has this ever happened to you???
