This movie is a classic. It's based on Novelist Virginia C. Andrews' sequel about a mother who relocates her four children and herself to the mansion of her abusive mother and sick father. The mother convinces her children that her father is gravely ill and she is the heir to a fortune, but she fails to tell them that her father is unaware of her having children. Once in the house, the children are locked in an attic and suffer years of mistreatment.
I'm thinking about reading all the sequels. Thoughts???
I am outraged that officials are insisting on changing the name of the Swine Flu to H1N1. I get it, the flu is a combination of genes or a strain of virus', but didn't it originally start in Mexico from someone having direct contact with the pig? Well, from everything that I've been reading that's how it started.
I keep hearing reports that it's ok to eat pork, and that the pig industry is allegedly upset because of low sales. Who in the hell wants to eat pork? At this point, I feel like their is not enough information to ease my mind and I know others who feel the same way. I don't eat pork! But, I think that a lot individuals don't have enough information about the filth that comes from the pig. Seemingly, if people were more educated they wouldn't want to eat the pig (hopefully). In my opinion, anything that can cause such a deathly virus is grounds for not eating.
So, here we all are in the U.S. becoming sick because of this damn virus. Paranoid as all hell to leave the house, greet people through kiss or handshake. What are we supposed to do, become Aliens in our own country? Stay home from work or school if sick? Unfortunately, some people can't afford to stay home. Not everyone has enough money for an emergency savings. Some have children. How does a damn virus from an animal get turned into a human virus? Did the individual that was handling the pig (you know the person that unknowingly started this piece of shit disease) have a cold or flu? And if not, I need answers... I think the country deserves answers.
I was sick for four days with a sore throat, running nose, and slight cough. I'm trying to quarantine myself, so that I don't get sicker or infect anyone. I work with Autistic children and I don't want my cold to compromise their fragile immune system.
Thank God my cough wasn't dry and I didn't have a headache or aches and pain, because I would have been treated like I had the damn plague or something. I keep reading things that say WASH YOUR HANDS and STAY AWAY from people who are coughing. Well, the reason that I am sick is because of someone at my school. A sneeze travels 100 miles per hour, so how can I protect myself from other people? I never sit up in peoples face.
This is my plea to officials... Please don't change the name of the virus. Instead, educate us more!
As you know, I have been working on my poetry book. Well, all looks good and it will be out sometime this Fall. yay! I still can't say much about it because of legal reasons, but I can't wait to let you all know. I'll keep you posted.
Just finished watching The View and I need to vent. The episode was talking about religion and how to deal with other peoples beliefs whether they believe in God or not. I respect everyone's religion and beliefs... I know that most people in this country follow the same belief system--totally fine, but please people lets remember that this is The United States of America. It's a disadvantage to place everyone in the same category.
Another thing, just because a person doesn't talk about religion doesn't mean that they don't have one. I'm really fed up with the lack of respect for other people and their beliefs. Furthermore, I am tired of people who attend church every Sunday to act like they're better than everyone else.
Individuals have the right to choose and worship or not whomever they choose. We should worry about ourselves and focus our energy on being better people individually, not on trying to change those around us. Except people for who they are and not for who you want them to become.
Please keep the judgements to a minimum, because at the end of the day above all else-- you have to first answer to yourself.
I just finished watching Celebrity Apprentice and can't believe all of the chaos that went down. Who knew that there would be so much drama! Donald Trump fired Melissa after things got a little heated in the board room. I think that she could have had a chance of staying, but she couldn't keep her damn mouth closed. There was even a point where Mr. Trump was trying to talk and she replied, "Can I finish?"
Once she said that to him, I knew that it was a wrap. I do think that Brandy needs to stand up more for herself and stop allowing Annie slickster to control her, but good luck with that. I still can't understand why everyone is upset with Annie, she's a Poker player--they lie, cheat, and steal (allegedly) to win. I'm not knocking her, it's a game--that's what you're supposed to do in a game. Leave you emotions at the door.
Now it's down to the final five or possibly 4, because we all know that Joan Rivers is not going to abandon her cub, so we'll see if she shows up next week. Too good of an episode. I wish that Donald would bring back the regular Apprentice.
Swine flu???? Ok, I have no time for this! WTF. How the hell do you contract the swine flu????
(CNN) -- The presence of swine flu in Mexico and the United States is "a serious situation" that could develop into a pandemic, the World Health Organization's director-general said Saturday.
People are walking around with masks??? do I need to get on their level? Let me know. It's called the Swine flu because it is usually only found in pigs, so why are human's being affected??? I can't take it! Currently, 68 people in Mexico have died. More than 1,000 people have been sickened. We don't need this right now! Arrrghhhh.
Experts think coughing, sneezing and contaminated surfaces spread the infection among people.
I'm going crazy trying to find other symptoms or more information and can't find anything...
It started Thursday with the bad weather. Raining off and on and thunderstorms. My throat wasn't as severe then as it is now. It feels so painful! Ouch. Yesterday, I thought that I would be ok, but the pain is unbearable right now. I've been gargling with warm salt water and using throat spray but I still have a sore throat. Does anyone have any good remedies without the use of medication???
I am the biggest Big Brother fan that I know. I'm such a big fan that I auditioned last year and the year before that, I made a video. However, the producers never got to see my video because my friend at the time decided to keep my video and never returned it (long story). So, I am debating if I should do another audition tape. The tape is due May 7th, so I have to be quick if I decide. The new season should be starting soon and I am too thrilled. I can't wait to watch the show and the feeds. I told you that I was an addict. Hey, if I never make it on the show, I would be just as satisfied with being a co-host with Gretchen on BB Housecalls. Will you watch the new season???
I definitely think that it's important to be more aware of the environment and the potentially hazardous chemicals around. It's a slow process, but I have decided to use only environmentally safe cleaners. I never realized how much of a difference it would make. Literally, my allergies and sinus problems have been reduced. I'll be the first to admit that I still have a long way to go towards being completely green but I think that this is a start. This is my GREEN shopping bag that I use whenever I go to my new favorite store Down to Earth.
Do you have a favorite health food store? Will you go green???
My parents taught me several lessons growing up, but one lesson that I have taken to heart is the importance of giving back to your community. I have committed myself to two organizations that I believe so much in. One is Planned Parenthood and the other is The American Diabetes Association. I can't stress enough how these two organizations advocate health and wellbeing, two things that are very important to me. This Saturday I will be walking in the Honolulu Aids Walk at Kapiolani Park. If you will be in Honolulu you should register to walk for a good cause and check it out: HonoluluAidsWalk
I will post pictures of the event. Have you ever walked for a good cause??? I want to hear your story.
I am a big cosmetic / toiletries freak. What girl isn't??? I thought that it would be fun to make a list of the items in my bathroom cabinet that I absolutely can't live without at the moment. In no particular order.

I just read a very important message on Nicole Richie's website about bottled water. She wrote about the danger of bottled water and the affect it has on women.
Via Nicole's blog: From Johns-Hopkins: Bottled water in your car is very dangerous! On the Ellen show, Sheryl Crow said this is what caused her breastcancer. It has been identified as the most common cause of the high levels of dioxin in breast cancer tissue.
I can count a number of times that I left my bottled water in the car over night, refrigerated it, and then drunk it the next day. I will definitely STOP doing this. As a matter of fact, I think that it's a good idea to stop drinking bottled water all together.
Let me start by saying that I don't endorse products, but there are some that I absolutely LOVE! Last night, I went to the grocery store and while I was there I was able to sample a new vodka called Kai Lychee Vodka. This vodka is absolutely the best of its kind. I typically can't drank vodka because of allergies and I get sick immediately after, however, this vodka is Gluten free. I couldn't believe that a vodka that takes so smooth and yummy could be Gluten free and distilled from rice. The company of the drink is located in Honolulu, HI. The best vodka ever, I swear! And, it is still 70 proof, so you definitely will get the same effect as other vodkas. Visit the web site www.kaivodka.com. Let me know if you've tasted the wonderful drink. It's still not available in a lot of areas, but the web site tells you where you can purchase.
I use to believe that I had many of the answers to my questions regarding love, but now I realize that I don't know much. I mean, what happened to the fairytale of being happily married? I assume it still exist. Actually, I know that it does.
It seems like so many of my friends have the same questions or go through the same trials and tribulations with love. This isn't me whining about wanting to be loved, so don't get it twisted... this is me reflecting.
Another thing, how long does it take to get over an ex? I read somewhere that you're supposed to divide the number of years you were together in half, and that's how long it takes for the heart to heal. Seems like a long time.
10 years / 2 = 5 years
Is it really possible to date someone for 10 years off and on and never have a solid relationship? Well, it just seems like a waste of time. Why are there so many games that are involved in dating? For instance, right now I'm thinking about calling a certain someone, but if I call then I lose. I shouldn't look at it as a competition but technically I will.
Is it possible to be friends with an ex after you've been deeply hurt? It seems so hard for the heart to heal. And, even when you try to be friends somehow the past is revisited. All is fair in love and war? Who invented that damn saying? Sounds like something Shakespeare would say.
To love or have love all is fair in love and war?
So I conclude my love for thought with this...
how do you know when you're feeling deep rooted love? Have you ever felt this?
I am heated! I ordered furniture from Crazy Mike's Furniture back in February. Well, when I had my furniture delivered I was told that a piece of my order was on back order and would not be available until four weeks. Four weeks passed and still no order. Bottom line, after seven weeks I was contacted by the furniture store and told that my order was available for pickup.
1. The order was supposed to be delivered and 2. its been seven weeks: that's three weeks longer than it was supposed to be. The sales rep that I spoke to was rude and inconsiderate. She told me that in order to receive my order I would have to pay another $60 for delivery. I told her that I was guaranteed delivery and my receipt proves it. She had the nerves to say to me, "what do you want me to do about it?" I told her that her company messed with the wrong person. I reported them to the better business bureau, my credit card company, and will contact the news station. Don't mess with me!
